Down Home Kitchen was established by Mary Alice Proffitt in the fall of 2015 in beautiful and historic downtown Montpelier, Vermont, as a community-minded restaurant serving scratch-made, with love, homestyle cooking and baking like her mother, Sally, and grandmother, Miriam, made for her growing up in Atlanta, Georgia.
Down Home's caring and talented staff work hard each and every day to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for you, baking and cooking to order each customer's meal with the best quality local, free-range and organic ingredients whenever possible while still maintaining a price point and menu that is accessible to all in our diverse community.
