scratch made, with love
Down Home Kitchen was established by Mary Alice Proffitt in the fall of 2015 in beautiful and historic downtown Montpelier, Vermont, as a community-minded restaurant serving scratch made, with love, homestyle cooking and baking like her mother, Sally, and grandmother, Miriam, made for her growing up in Atlanta, Georgia.
Down Home's caring and talented staff work hard each and every day to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for you, cooking and serving each customer's meal with the best quality local, free-range and organic ingredients whenever possible while still maintaining a price point and menu that is accessible to all in our diverse community.
The pleasure of having is in sharing. Please enjoy your food and fellowship and make yourself at home.
Please note: Down Home Kitchen supports closing the wage gap between tipped and non-tipped employees and in doing so adds a 2% kitchen tip to all tickets.
